* Video Commentary.
* The bike path.
We are very lucky to have the bike path. There’s hardly a day that goes by that I don’t use it. That’s why I can say it needs a little work. The section of path between Highway 2 at Power Dam Road and Lamoureux Park is in dire need of work. The section from #2 along Power Dam is heaving badly in a number of places and the run along the canal is getting close to the former Long Sault Parkway condition. It consists of what I like to call “bump bump” sections. Gaps are appearing in the asphalt and man do they hurt the pressures points (ie; hands, feet, behind) if you’re running 110 psi in your tires. One more winter of freezing and thawing might have me avoiding this area completely.
Meanwhile on the bike path to the north the wind storm (which I missed) last weekend has taken out a number of trees and they are now on the path itself. I’m talking about the bike path sections that run from Cornwall Centre Road to Headline Road and Headline to St. Andrews West. I plan on contacting the county later today to see if they can clear the debris. I’d have done it myself, but a chainsaw might be needed.
Just wondering. Why isn’t there a map of the bike path online? It might be there, but I can’t find it. If I can’t find it, I’ll bet people (cyclists) unfamiliar with the area can’t find it either. We do want them to find our area, don’t we?

Perspective #1: Hudak's Gutless Stand On Abortion – Ottawa Citizen
- Odd that Hudak can address the pressing issue of promoting the sale of buck-a-beer, but not abortion. Oh, it’s about votes you say? Well, that explains it. Election is coming on Oct. 6.
- Just who has guts on this issue and who doesn’t?
Perspective #2: Blizzard: Abortion as election distraction – Ottawa Sun
- And while McGuinty said Tuesday he thinks voters are looking for “clarity,” on abortion, he’s been less than clear himself over the years.
- McGuinty answered a 1995 Campaign Life Coalition questionnaire, saying life begins at conception. Surely if one believes that, it logically follows one believes terminating a pregnancy is killing a life.
The Liberals think Hudak might have a “hidden agenda”. I think that’s better than McGuinty’s. His is to lie and expect Ontarians to take it.

* It’s summertime.
The temperature is supposed to hit 31 today and maybe 36 tomorrow. Hot stuff eh? I’m hearing people link the hot weather to glo-bull warming. Here’s a little heads up to the alarmists…. it’s summer and it’s been hotter before Al Gore.

- The name is two miles across – with letters a kilometre high. It is so huge that the “H”, the first “A” and part of the “M” have been made into waterways.
